Not sure if I've explained this properly.1. I have one material without a serial number profile.2. I GR a certain quantity and keep it in storage location X3.

I enter a serial number profile to the material4. Now I want to issue some of the quantity in storage location X5. The system prompts me for a serial number but the stock in storage location X is not serialised and as a result I can't issue the stock.This of course is causing a lot of problems. Has anyone faced a similar situation before?thanks in advanceMichalis. It only allows you to change it.Initally the material master was without a s/n profile. We GR stock (non serialised). After that we changed the material master to include a s/n profile and we GR more stock (serialised). At this point I can't remove the s/n profile, I can only change it.I tried the following and I think it worked.1.

I created another s/n profile ZDUMMY and in the settings I flagged the Serial Number Existence Requirement indicator. That way the system does not create serial numbers but expects you to find already created serial numbers/equipments. I also set the stock check to warning (1).2. I set material master serial number profile to ZDUMMY3. I manually created as many equipments I needed (with material number serial number combination)4. I did a goods movement 311 from storage location X to storage location X (the same location) and when I was prompted for serial numbers I entered the serial numbers that I manually created.5. I then changed the serial profile in the material master back to what it should be6.

I ran program 'RISERNR9'. This is necessary to change the stock check indicator in the equipments. If you change the serial number profile in the material master it doesn't update the stock check indicator in the equipment. You need to run 'RISERNR9' to update the records.Looks like it worked.Thanks a lot for your helpCheers.
